School tour roundup

Mike Haines school presentation

November saw the campaign continue its tour of schools all over the UK. We visited 14 schools in nine days and gave 16 presentations, bringing the overall total for the school tour to 21 schools and 23 presentations. Almost 2,500 students have now seen the presentation – it has certainly been a busy autumn!

In Liverpool, we visited Archbishop Blanch Church of England school, Broughton Hall Catholic High School and The Studio. In Portsmouth, we visited St Edmund’s Catholic School and King Richard School. In the Bradford area, we visited Coal Clough Academy, Dixons Trinity Academy and Carlton Bolling College. We were then in Southend and Grays visiting the South Essex College campuses. West Hatch High School in Chigwell was next, then Westborough High School and Batley Girls’ High School in the Dewsbury area of Yorkshire, then Sandwell College, Oldbury Academy, Wood Green Academy and Shireland Collegiate Academy in the Birmingham region, and finally Kirklees College in Huddersfield.

I was and am very honoured by the reception the students gave me. In each and every case I was treated with respect and courtesy. At every opportunity, the students represented their respective schools, academies and colleges at the highest standard. The discipline in the schools these days is astounding, however what is even more wonderful is the move from discipline that is imposed towards discipline of one’s self. Again, there were many questions, some of them very tough and some very emotional. I hope I managed to answer them well. You can send questions through the contact page if you were unable to ask your questions.

I would like to thank all the students and staff of the places we visited, as well as my own team who have been vital in the organisation of the tour. It has been nicknamed The Heineken Tour (reaches the parts that other speeches don’t) sponsored by Kleenex (because there is often the need for tissues).

I would like to wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
